Day 8

On all days yoga, morning and evening sessions. Yoga with Perumal is made up of 6 parts which act as an underlying fixed foundation. Pranayama, preparatory, salutation, strength, stretching and meditation. Each part following in the order listed acts as a synergic to the other. The tutoring will be tailor made for your personal needs and condition, even within a large group. A progressive approach will allow you to achieve the right state of flow in order to improve mobility, breathing and circulation while strengthening muscles, tendons and ligaments, leading to genuine mental and physical well-being. Yoga with Perumal lessons progress from the least challenging to the more dynamic postures during a lesson. The same theme runs through the retreat as a whole. The level we go to is determined by the group that is attending. The idea is to peak in the last days of the retreat. All twice a day lessons are designed to lead into the next lesson.
The first lesson makes the second lesson more easy to do and so on into the 3rd. The goal is also not to practice too strong otherwise the nervous system will react to tighten the body, injuries could easily inflamed and the body would not open itself up. The key is to make the body open itself up. Perumal's method adapts to the moment with a strong attention kept on the ones who have or have had injuries. The first lesson usually avoids all things that may lead to pain. The most important thing that those with injuries learn is not what to but above all what not to do while listening to their own body. Often the same thing that will heal will also inflame a problem if approached without consciousness. A result is felt immediately after the first lesson which creates motivation. Usually after the third night participants experience a breakthrough in the practice and physical wellness that is measurable and often expressed by them. Some stop feeling an old shoulder or back pain that bothered them for years.
